Wir schreiben das Jahr 2014, als Brian Stewart und Alex Grant das Projekt ins Leben gerufen haben. Durch den Umzug nach Baltimore hat das Duo Matt Aukerman kennengelernt und aus Youth Warrant wurde ein Trio. Der Sound bleibt zwar nach wie vor Indie-Pop, jedoch will niemand der drei Musiker verneinen, dass das Hinzutoßen von Aukerman zu neuen Ideen und mehr Inspiration geführt hat.
Am 6. Oktober nun erscheint ihre neue Single namens „Shake“, die sich vom Stil her mit Bands wie Foster The People vergleichen lässt. Der lockere Indie-Pop der Amerikaner wurde von der Band selbst produziert und gemischt. Der Song ist also zu 100% homemade und gerade diese Tatsache verleiht der Nummer seinen gewissen Charme. Laut eigener Aussage der Band soll es aber nur der Anfang einer Welle an neuer Musik sein. Das Resultat ist für 2016 geplant.

Let’s go back to 2014, when Brian Stewart and Alex Grant first brought the project to life. The duo got to know Matt Aukerman after their move to Baltimore and thus the trio Youth Warrant was born. The sound has pretty much remained indie-pop-ish, however no one can deny that Aukerman’s chance arrival led to new many more ideas and more inspiration.
Today, the 6th October, their new single “Shake” has arrived, the style of which can be compared with that of bands like Foster The People. This chilled indie-pop track from America was produced and mixed by the band themselves, so the song is 100% homemade and it’s exactly that fact that earns the track it’s distinct charm. According to some statements from the band, the single is to be just the start of a wave of new music coming our way., with the end result is planned for 2016!
